Lincoln Park/Old Town

I grew up here, so I know the area pretty well. If you have kids, I bet there favorite day will be the one where they went to LP.

Things to do for Adults

Go to Second City: My friend Sarah has her own show coming up, if you see the Bachelorette improv go to that one, tell Sarah I said hi.

North Ave Beach/Chess Pavillion: I go more into details about all the beaches in this post, but North Ave is a fun one. The highlight for me is the Chess Pavillion tho

Kingston Mines: Oldest continuous running Jazz club in Chicago, "Hear Blues. Drink Booze. Talk Loud. You're Among Friends." was the motto of the old owner before he died.

Check out the wonderful dive bars: Now me personally, I am very much a dive bar man, I don’t understand why anyone would ever want to stand and drink I want to sit down, but I digress. Lincoln Park has all sorts of great dive bars, Ravens, Delialah’s, Old Town Ale House.

Want the more high key night life?: Full disclore, having my brother help me with this one, but go on Lincoln from Halligans, or go to Wells and North and walk down. If your the kinda people who like standing, drinking and talking over loud music this is def the spot for you.

Things to do with Kids

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum: Fantastic to do with kids but don’t need em to enjoy this. The butterfly house is awesome, there are butterflies everywhere, which might also be your worst nightmare.

Lincoln Park Zoo/Conservatory: Another activity to do with kids. The conservatory isn’t the biggest conservatory but its lovely in there, plus the zoo itself is great and also free.

Oz Park: If your kid is into Wicked or just the Wizard of Oz its a pretty great spot. Weird to reccomend my childhood park, also look in the bricks for JOSEPH AND RYAN KELLEHER, me and my bro have a brick there (We are cool like that).

Food Glorious Food!

Twin Anchors: Spot with mob ties, been open since the 30’s. GET THE RIBS
